Hi, I’m Kienan! I’m glad you’re here and can’t wait for you to see what I have to offer. With a decade of experience in sports media, broadcasting, video production and reporting on television, radio and digital platforms, I have the expertise to do pretty much anything to elevate a brand in today’s social media driven climate. I am a play-by-play broadcaster who has built around that to become well-rounded in the digital space.
I currently work for The Summit League as the Associate Director of Digital Content, Championship Broadcaster, Host and Reporter and am responsible for creating engaging content and telling stories of athletes in unique ways. In my 10 months in South Dakota, I have been able to cover each of our 19 championships differently through play-by-play broadcasting, sideline reporting, recording game recap donuts, producing short- and long-form stories and more.
Over three days at The Summit League Track and Field Championships, I spent 24 hours live on-air as the trackside reporter. During our five-day basketball championship, I produced more than 50 interviews, standups, game recaps and analysis, giving fans more coverage than ever before with my reporting. I was the play-by-play announcer for our volleyball and swim & dive championships. I followed Oral Roberts’ baseball program throughout the year all the way to the College World Series in Omaha, telling their stories and covering the historic run for a perennial tournament Cinderella.
Before moving to South Dakota to take on a brand new position with The Summit League, I worked as the television play-by-play announcer for Cal State Fullerton baseball and softball on ESPN+, UC Riverside baseball on Learfield, Concordia University baseball on PacWest TV. The NCAA brought me on to call the 2022 NCAA Baseball Azusa Pacific Regional.
After earning my Masters in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from Syracuse University in 2020, I worked as a sports anchor, news reporter and producer for a CBS affiliate in New York. I was able to cover professional, college and high school sports and tell the stories of the talented athletes in our DMA. I also pitched a new show to station and Gray Media Group executives and was able to secure a weekly, Saturday late-morning time slot for a college football pregame show. Once the show was green-lit, I had six weeks to assemble a team and lead the build of show graphics to create marketable segments for a 4:1 return on investment. Southern Tier Kickoff airs each Saturday ahead of the CBS college football game of the week.
While in New York, I worked as the play-by-play announcer for the Binghamton Black Bears (FPHL). I hosted pregame, intermission and postgame shows on WENE-Fox Sports 1430. While traveling with the team, I interviewed players and coaches for the pregame shows and pushed those out on social media. This experience added to my decade of work as a broadcaster for live productions at the collegiate and professional levels for a variety of television and digital networks.
I am a 2019 graduate of Dickinson College where I played quarterback and helped build the online footprint of Dickinson Athletics through the Red Devil Sports Network, a broadcast and social media outlet where Dickinson students have honed their talent in sports media, taking them to work with the NBA, NFL, KPMG Sports and more.
